Riteish Deshmukh: I am not looking EK VILLAIN & LAIBHARI as my turning point
With the completion of a decade, Bollywood actor
Riteish Deshmukh seems to be exploring newer
pastures! All these years Riteish tickled our funny
bones with his entertaining performances.
However, one is anticipating films like EK VILLAIN and
LAI BHARI, an upcoming Marathi movie, which are
serious in nature, as the turning point in his career!
“I don’t know about the turning point and am also not
looking it that way. I just do things as they fall in
place. I think there are choices and it’s a coincidence
that they are coming together. LAI BHARI was
supposed to release in January but it’s coming up
now. EK VILLAIN was supposed to release before
HUMSHAKALS but it released now. HUMSHAKALS
was supposed to be last…but that’s something not in
my hand. Everything has its own destiny,” says the
actor
Ask Riteish what was his idea behind doing an action
extravaganza like LAI BHARI in Marathi cinema and
he says, “It’s not a new genre in India but it’s
something which I haven’t seen in Marathi cinema
happening for a long time. And that’s what I
attempted when the script came to me, to do
something like action revenge drama in Marathi
cinema,” he adds, “Further I wanted to work with
Nishikant Kamat for a very long time. We even
discussed few scripts earlier and I am glad that it
happened finally.”
