Lady Gaga is going to shoot a commercial with Shiseido.
TOKYO—Lady Gaga has just wrapped filming a commercial for Shiseido, set to air on Japanese television stations in May.
The singer, sporting long white braids and a dramatic blue eye shadow look, posted a video message on Shiseido's Japanese you Tube account on Friday to announce the project. Shiseido said two version of the commercial will be produced.
Lady Gaga, who already featured as the face of the Japanese company's 2015 New Year's ad campaign for print media, showed a more casual side of herself in the video. Holding a selfie pole and wearing a slouchy gray t-shirt exposing one of her shoulders, she addressed her fans from the shoot's backstage area.
"We just finished the last shot [of the commercial] in New York City and we are having fun celebrating makeup and continuing to redefine what it means to be beautiful," she said.
Lady Gaga joins a long list of international celebrities who have agreed to star in Japanese commercials. Tommy Lee Jones has been the official spokesman of Boss coffee for several years and pops up constantly in commercials for the canned beverage. Cameron Diaz, Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and boy band One Direction have all done ad work in Japan.
