The style of Princess Letizia, future Queen of Spain ~ Gossips & News Portal

We imagine that the Duchess of Cambridge is shaking in her trusty nude court shoes today as a new pretender to her 'most stylish royal' crown emerges. News that King Juan Carlos of Spain is to abdicate has turned the eyes of the world on his son, Prince Felipe, who will become the country's new king - and also on new queen-to-be Princess Letizia. And Kate has cause to worry - with a natural style eye, Letizia nails everything from off-duty dressing (thanks to a wardrobe of sweet day dresses and casual separates) to big event eveningwear, sweeping into the palace in everything from statement-making ball dresses to a formal-yet-foxy jumpsuit. Click through the images above to see more of Princess Letizia's style

Could this couple be any more beautiful? Rather than making her blend into the (matching red) background, this stunning gown ensures Letizia stands out.

The Princess co-ordinated perfectly with Queen Rania of Jordan on an official visit to Amman, with the pair wearing complimentary pastel shades.

This perfect summer look makes us desperately wish we lived in Spain - mostly because of the way Letizia's white dress shows off her gorgeous tan! Simple, chic and effortlessly elegant.

This Felipe Varela lace dress has to be one of Princess Letizia's best fashion choices to date. No surprises that she opted to wear this number again then.

Letizia is photocall-ready in a simple cream suit, alongside Prince Filipe and their two daughters, Leonor and Sofia.

Letizia's winning royal style involves taking classic pieces and giving it a modern twist, as is the case with this chic embellished-collar mac.

Colour-popping fuchsia - broken up with a thick black belt - works well on Letizia's Mediterranean skin tone.

The queen-to-be gives a nod to Seventies style queen Bianca Jagger in this sharp white suit and pussybow blouse.

Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia 'did a Kate and Wills' at London 2012 in patriotic his 'n' hers outfits. Too cute

One part Chanel, one part Cher Horowitz, this look is 100% gorgeous.

Letizia knows the power of a bootcut trouser when it comes to lengthening and balancing the silhouette, as she proves with this white pair.

At most of her formal engagements you will see the Princess wearing one of Felipe Varela designs - this time, a wool crepe black and white dress which she aired with Magrit patent leather shoes.

Can you even imagine the Duchess of Cambridge wearing a jumpsuit? Yet maybe if she saw this Letizia working this look she'd reconsider - the princess looks seriously stylish here.

Ignoring the skirt (which we love, by the way) and the effortlessly chic, crisp shirt, we can't take our eyes of Letizia's bouncy blowdry and totally cute headband!

There's something about this particular look which reminds us of Duchess Kate - maybe it's those heels!

Ignoring Letizia's beautiful dress for a moment (we know, it's hard), take a quick glance at the princess' modern updo and glamorous make-up. No chalky eyeliner and pink blush here!

Playing with proportions and mixing black and blue to brilliant effect, this is another winning look from Spain's future Queen.

Princess Letizia wears clothes from the high street as well! In fact, she shares Kate's love of Zara, and looks amazing in this botanical printed day dress by the brand. She also appears to favour nude footwear like the Duchess too - we think we might prefer those slingbacks to Kate's LK Bennetts. Sorry, Kate!

This may seem like a fairly straightforward satorial choice but look a little closer and you'll notice the metallic clutch and strappy silver sandals that scream: 'I'm a princess, but no fashion bore'.

Letizia pulls off the simple mac and white jeans combo with ease.

Matching the trim of her skirt with those awesome peeptoe brown heels - finally, some footwear we can get on board with!

From her days behind the newsreader desk, Princess Letizia has smart but sexy dressing absolutely nailed. We'd like to have seen different accessories paired with this navy blue number but overall the look is fab.

Everything about this ensemble - the peep-toe snakeskin heels, 70s-inspired jeans and pulled back, modern ponytail - screams competent dresser.

Ladies and gentleman, we present to you, a princess wearing leopard print and totally pulling it off.
