HAPPY NEW YEAR

The New Year has clocked in with the promise of entertaining cinema from Bollywood throughout 2014. Of the lot, Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year tops the fans’ wishlist in the new poll by ApunKaChoice.

There’re many reasons why 'Happy New Year' could have topped the poll. First, it’s after seven years that Farah Khan and Shahrukh Khan are teaming up again since Om Shanti Om. They had a falling-out in between and Farah moved on to Akshay Kumar as her favourite; and there was a huge slapgate incident where SRK is said to have slapped Farah’s hubby Shirish Kunder.

But all’s well that ends well. Over time, Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan made peace and the rest is history. ‘Happy New Year’ brings him onscreen once again together with the blockbuster heroineDeepika Padukone. And let’s not forget the huge ensemble cast the film has: Abhishek BachchanBoman IraniSonu Sood and Vivaan Shah.

Little wonder then that in the ApunKaChoice poll, the film trumped Salman Khan’s Jai Ho to emerge as the most eagerly awaited film of the year with 58 percent of the total 4376 votes.

Other films in contention were Aamir Khan’s Peekay, Hrithik Roshan’s Bang Bang, Ranbir Kapoor’s Bombay Velvet, Ajay Devgn’s Action Jackson and Saif Ali Khan’s Humshakals
